The book has been neatly repaired: the boards have been covered with very attractive decorative paper and both paste downs and end papers replaced with brown paper. There are four small stamps from the "Detken Rocholl Biblioteca Circolante Napoli ", one on the front end paper, three on the title page, as well as the number 609, the library's accession number, handwritten on the front end paper and again on the title page. The front hinge has been repaired with masking tape and the book is foxed throughout. For all its faults, it remains a nice copy with no inner markings and solidly bound. I love the idea that it has gone from Leipzig, to Naples, to finish in a small country town in Australia. Time for a new journey.
