The front boards is badly stained and cocked, the back one has a series of very small ink stains inthe centre; The front and back end papers are shelf soiled and there is a faded name writ large on the fore-edge. The faults are aesthetic rather than structural, internally the body of the book is clean and the binding solid. A very good copy in poor boards. From the title page: "First cousin of the King of denmark and of the late King George V, enrolled in the French Foreign Legion in October 1922, and has now, through his courage and devotion to duty, reached the rank of Commander and Battalion Leader" No Publishing date, Published in French under title: Mes souvenirs de la Legion etrangere (Paris, 1936).The author was born in 1887
