The cream boards are shelf soiled, and the front one has a chip missing along the outer edge towards the head. The front hinge is stained by the printer's glue, a printer's fault, the 26 preliminary pages are bumped, also at the outer, top edge. Overall the book is in excellent codition: clean, unmarked and solid. A very good copy in good only boards. A reprint of a 1799 ed. with a facsimile of original title page reading: 'A missionary voyage to the Southern Pacific Ocean performed in the years 1796,1797,1798, in the ship Duff, commanded by Captain James Wilson. Compiled from the journals of the officers and missionaries and illustrated with maps, charts, and views' 'The body of the journal is the composition of William Wilson, from Captain James Wilson's papers, his own, and the missionaries' reports. The voyage was sponsored by the London Missionary Society.' There is no publishing date given, the date and description are both taken from Trove.
