The covers' edges are chipped, and there is intermittent foxing throughout the book; the back cover has a couple of small stains; the hinge between the title page and the frontispiece is cracked at the head. though the binding remains solid; a closed tear on page 15 has been repaired with acid free tape and the plate opposite page 24 is damaged at the lower inner hinge, though it might be a printer's error. For all its imperfections, it remains a quite a nice copy with no structural faults.
