Three sequences bound in one: 160, 159, 552. The boards have been neatly covered with deocorative paper thatcould be original Jugendstil and the spine reinforced again at a much later date with blue electric tape, which has partially lifted at the tail; another later addition is the front paste down / front hinge; there are two library stamps on the title page and throughout most of the book the tail of the pages have a stain which fans across the hinge on both sides. There is also intermittent foxing throughout the book. Some pages are crease along the lower outer edge. In the third section, the hinge between pp 170 - 171 has been reinforced with brown tape; throught the book the printer has cut the pages unevenly, so unevenly on page 503 that some of the words have been guillotined. Page 504 is fine and finally the back hinge is cracked at the head. The book is better than 'fair', and yet for all its faults it remains a fundamentally good copy that is comfortable to read, solid and should easily survive a couple more centuries. German translation of the original French: " Lola Montes, memoires accompagnes de lettres intimes de S. M. le Roi de Baviere et de Lola Montes,.." published in the same year. A rare title.
