The spine strip is missing at the tail, causing minor lifting to the edge of both the front and back cover; the spine strip is also lightly torn at the head; there is intermittent light foxing throughout the book and the plate on page 38 is loose. The hinge is cracked at the tail on pp. 40 and 70. From page 110 to the back cover, the tail's outer edge is lightly bumped. Definitely not a very good copy, but good only would be too harsh, as it is fundamentally sound despite its faults. On the front cover "Special Summer Number of the Studio. Colour Photography and other Recent Developments of the Art of the Camera" "This book addresses the recent development of the Autochrome color process by the Lumiere Brothers who were also responsible for the first practical projector for motion pictures. Long sought after, the Autochrome process was the first successful color process and therefore marked the beginning of color photography."
