Volume VII of the bound edition of Bank Notes covers December 1924 to November 1925; Volume VIII December 1925 to November 1926. Volume VII is in excellent condition, and has as a loose insert a full page crossword puzzle. Volume VIII suffers from sundry ills: the front board has faded along the outer edge; it has a neat pencil scribble on the cover of Feb. 1926; a closed tear a closed tear running vertically along the page from page 26 to page 31 in the March1926 has been repaired. The repair is obvious on the unevenly numbered pages, less so on the evenly number ones. The pages to have been more obviously turned, but not roughly. The staff magazine began as a monthly (1918 -1934) then a quarterly (1935 - Dec. 1959) and again a monthly from Feb.1960. Bank Notes was the staff magazine for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and its is a fascinating publication covering agriculture, manufacturing, wildlife, amateur sport and travel round Australia. It is profusely illustrated so it becomes also a guide to the fashion of the period.
