Coloured maps and profusely illustrated.The boards are rubbed, the back one badly and the front one is partially detached towards the head, leaving a small gap. There is no danger of the board as such becoming detached.There is a presentation page claimed by Daniel. Page 115/6 have a short, closed tear at the head, while pp133/34 have two, one at the tail one on the outer edge. There are other pages with very small tears and not many at that. None affects the print.Ten plates are damp affected, bar one which touches a small part of the print, the stain is always on the blank outer edge. All prints have their tissue guards.There is a large fold out map of Ireland at the back which has been reinforced at the edges and one closed tear repaired. Intermittent minor staining throughout the book. For all its faults, it remains an attractive publication. The binding is solid, profusely illustrated, maps. The 1900 date is taken from Trove, though the printing could well be 1884 or late 19th century.
