viii 338 pages, illustrated. Full title: 'The Natural History of Selborne. Arranged for Young Persons. A new edition with notes.' Full leather, marbled boards. Decorative spine with gilt print and raised bands. The front board has and embossed gilt coat of arms and motto, which suggests a school prize: "Parvae Res Concordia Crescunt Laborum Praemia 1861' The boards are lightly chipped at the edges and the preliminaries foxed as are the back end papers and paste down, else clean, unmarked and solid. The book offers no date, I have taken 1861 from the front cover, as I could find no other listings . A very attractive copy oozing elegance.
